Sure spring is nice and all...

...but the lingering allergies are causing me to resort to bug soup. Eep!

(Literally)

Just through analyzing my face, the Chinese doctor depicted my symptoms accurately. Talk about being psychic. When a man like that suggests you drink bug soup, you don't question him.

5 more days of ingesting this foreign brew. Wish me luck!

um...danielle...are you serious? Let me know if that works. Spring allergies are making me miserable too and I'd almost try anything.

gerald n veron: it's not quite a bug but rather the shell this particular bug sheds when it 'replaces its skin'.. it feels hollow, and we can be certain that it definitely came from a bug.. i'll let u know in 5 days how this works out!

serene: i got much better after taking a ton of antibiotics.. but the allergies just got worse again since i came back, cause the air in california's pretty dry.. ugh.. so far no surgery necessary so fingers crossed! i've been paranoid since the nose bandage story..

Well, if you have a runny nose and watery eyes and are always sneezing, then you can easily tell you have hayfever - no need for some chinese psychic to tell you that. Some over the counter hayfever pills will do the trick, rather than eating some weird looking bugs' shells. No wonder tigers, whales etc are bound to extinction because of some medical beliefs that are soooo backward.

anonymous: thanks for the diagnosis despite not knowing what my symptoms r.. i sure dont need to see a dr if i have such voluntary readers suggesting i take otc meds.. if u had paid close attention to the comments above, these r actually shells the bugs shed when they've developed new skins on their own.. i doubt the chinese dr is contributing to species extinction merely through utilizing what's disposed off by the species themselves..

oh, n i can assure u after being in his office that there were no whales or tigers harmed during his tenure.. unless of course, ur thinking is soooo backward that u believe it to be the case..

must be an orang putih comment hehe

can u actually bring it into the US?

yokeann: hellooo... i got this from a chinese dr in sf.. so i'm assuming he imported them from china? anyways, they're dried goods n just bug shells (not the bugs themselves) so i doubt customs had any problems with that..

I frequent the chinese doctor and those bugs are eeeww, not as eeeww as drinking the stinky medicine though. I have to say it works though...I hope it helps your allergies.
